Grupo de Energia de Bogota and Idipron give the plaza of 58th Street a new face

Bogota, D.C., February 17, 2017. Grupo Energia de Bogota (GEB), the Institute for the Protection of Children and Young People (IDIPRON in Spanish), Local City Hall of Chapinero, UAESP, SDIS, DADEP and Aguas Bogota, united to recover the plaza located in 58th Street with 13th Avenue in the locality of Chapinero.
A beautification day was held at this place and the young people of IDIPRON, together with the support of volunteers from GEB’s “Unidos con Energia” and the UAESP team, made a wall painting that will bring new life to this high-circulation public space, make it more pleasant and safer.
Astrid Alvarez, president of GEB highlighted that “supporting these initiatives fills us with satisfaction because creating shared value and contributing towards the positive transformation of the city is a priority for Grupo Energia de Bogota. Our volunteer group, ‘Unidos con Energia’, will continue to work closely with IDIPRON in these activities.”
The volunteer group ‘Unidos con Energia’ is a program that GEB has been developing closely with IDIPRON, through which various social activities that contribute towards the development of boys, girls, teenagers and young people (who are all part of the programs led by this entity) are supported. Currently, the Group has 43 volunteers who besides their contribution strengthen their leadership, integration and social awareness skills.
GEB will continue supporting these initiatives that make part of its sustainable development policy, whose priority is to generate value for all its stakeholders.
