Grupo Energía de Bogotá strengthens its relationship with the Huila communities

24 November 2016

Bogotá, November 24, 2016. Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB) provided training courses intended to promote a safe coexistence with energy transmission towers, as a part of its efforts to build better relations with the Huila department.

These training courses were attended by over 220 citizens of the municipalities of Tesalia (rural district of Algo de la Hocha and El Espinal), Paicol (district of Domingo Arias), El Agrado (districts of El Pedernal, La Galda, Yaguilga and San José de Belén), El Pital (district of Hato Viejo), Tarqui (district of Zapatero) and Altamira (district of Hato Blanco and El Grifo).

These 11 meeting with the communities were useful to reinforce some basic aspects regarding the coexistence with the infrastructure of high-tension electric energy transmission. Likewise, other important topics were addressed such as the operation of the towers and its importance for the National Energy Transmission System, which provides reliable energy for all Colombians.

In the department of Huila, Grupo Energía de Bogotá has two operating infrastructures, the first one is known as "South West Corridor", which connects the Betania Sub-station with the south of the country and travels across the departments of Cauca, Putumayo and Nariño; and the Corridor "Tesalia - Altamira", connecting the sub-stations under the same names.
