EEB's investment in Promigas is closed

Bogotá, Colombia, 10 February 2011

Empresa de Energía de Bogotá, company of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, carried out the financial closures of the purchase operation of 15.6% of the Colombian company Promigas through the acquisition of AEI assets of said company.

Corficolombiana and private capital funds such as Corredores Capital I, Fondo de Capital Privado de Compartimentos CP-VAL Compartimento CP-VAL Gas Distribution and Transport sectors also joined in the transaction.

The foregoing transaction included the purchase of AEI Promigas Ltd., AEI Promigas Holdings Ltd. and AEI Promigas Investments Ltd., who jointly owned 52,13% of the Colombian company Promigas. As a result of the operation, Grupo Energía de Bogotá acquired, indirectly 15,6% of Promigas.

“It is a moment of great satisfaction for Grupo Energía de Bogotá, to hold stocks in a company that is valued and cherished by Colombians, as well as to start this new stage in Promigas together with the new shareholders", added the CEO. Mrs. Mónica de Greiff.

Investment in Promigas and soon, investment in Calidda, a gas distribution company in Peru, are the result of a rigorous planning and expansion program of Grupo Energía de Bogotá aimed at consolidating its leadership as a corporation in the Latin-American energy sector.
