EEB began sale of shares

Bogotá, Colombia, 10 October 2011

  • The minimum amount of shares to be issued amounted to $700.000 million
  • Resources will be destined to consolidate the investment plan.
  • Shares will be on sale as of October 27.

Bogotá, 7 October 2011. Empresa de Energía de Bogotá began the sale of new shares which subscription value was set at 1,300 each. Current shares, the general public and national and international investors will have until sext Thursday 27 of October to purchase shares. The initial package of shares in sale is $700,000 million, equivalent to 6% of the company's capital, which major shareholder is the city of Bogota. 

For Mrs. Mónica De Greiff, CEO of Empresa de Energía de Bogotá, “one of the strategic objectives that wee seek with this capitalization is strengthen share cash in the Stock Exchange and adequate valuation of EEB and its broad investment portfolio carried out in the past years”.

Empresa de Energía de Bogotá wishes that the inhabitants of Bogota and other investors participate in the company's growing process.  Similarly, the offer also provides an opportunity for current shareholders, employees and company's retired personnel, institutional investors and regional investors to buy shares through compartments or special slots established for each of them.

During the last year, Grupo Energía de Bogotá, led by its headquarters, EEB, obtained income amounting to $2,34 billion, generating dividends and distributions to its shareholders for more than COP900 billion.  Currently, in  Colombia, Peru and Guatemala, EEB executed an investment plan amounting to US$956 million which included expansion projects of electric networks, pipelines and distribution of household natural gas.
