02 February 2017
Bogotá D.C., February 2, 2017. Cálidda, a company in which Grupo Energía de Bogotá has a 60% stake, is the first private company to be part of the "Lima, the city of the huacas" program of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. The program seeks to promote actions aimed at protecting pre-Hispanic archaeological monuments, representing hundreds of years of history.
In this process, Cálidda will collaborate with the implementation of the Huaca Mangomarca in San Juan de Lurigancho and the construction of a cultural center, which will become major tourist and cultural attractions of Lima.
This program seeks to engage local governments, private companies and the civil society; to develop initiatives with which the cultural identity can be recovered along with the development of the cities' necessary infrastructure. The company has also been responsible for coordinating joint activities that promote sustainable development.
For Grupo Energía de Bogotá, participating in and supporting these initiatives is part of its commitment to integral excellence in sustainable development.
Cálidda is part of the companies that Grupo Energía de Bogotá has framed within the Urban Energy Solutions strategy, focused on developing and operating the necessary infrastructure to meet the demand for electricity and natural gas in large cities with high energy consumption.
Currently, Cálidda holds a 33-year concession to design, build and operate the natural gas distribution system in the department of Lima and the Constitutional Province of Calao in Peru, a pioneer public service model in Peru, contributing to improving the quality of life of the population and preserving the environment. Cálidda brings natural gas to more than 2 million Peruvians, 524 large industries and 225.000 vehicles that have been converted to natural gas.
