Empresa de Energía de Bogotá exceeded share issuing goals

Bogotá, Colombia, 28 October 2011

At  the closing of the last day of EEB shares offering, the company confirmed that it exceeded the sale goal established by receiving acceptances that exceeded COP700 billion in the process.

Residents of Bogota, collaborators of the companies belonging to Grupo Energía de Bogotá, as well as national and international investors showed their trust on the company and its future.

This operation is a big step forward in terms of financing the expansion Plan in Colombia, Peru and Guatemala, with which it will strengthen the generation of resources for shareholders, including the Capital District.

Bogotá, 28 October 2011. In this successful process, Empresa de Energía de Bogotá –EEB, exceeded the goal established regarding the engagement of investors and finding new resources in a process that allowed thousand of persons to become part of the growth and the results of all the companies that make up Grupo Energía de Bogotá.

According to initial results, the goal established by the Board of Directors was met in an outstanding manner, to achieve the engagement of new investments amounting to approx. COP900 billion, as per information provided by the Colombian Stock Exchange, which represents a demand of 131% of the base amount offered.

For Mrs. Mónica de Greiff, Group CEO, the result of this issuance  “ratifies the trust that individuals have as regards the administration of the companies that make up Grupo Energía de Bogotá, while at the same time it confirms the excellent performance of the investment portfolio and the growth plan, which has allowed us to position ourselves as a leading corporation in the energy and natural gas sector in  Colombia and the region”.

During this last year, companies of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, led by its headquarters, EEB, obtained income amounting to COP2.34 trillion, generating resources to its shareholders fro more than COP900 billion. Currently EEB executed in Colombia, Peru and Guatemala n investment plan amounting to around US$1.2 billion, which includes expansion projects of electric networks, pipelines and distribution of household natural gas.
