Volunteers from Grupo Energía de Bogotá gave a fresh new look to “El Peñón del Cortijo” park in Ciudad Bolívar

Bogotá D.C., April 20th, 2017. Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB), the Office of the Mayor of Bogotá, Ciudad Bolívar City Hall, Aseo Capital, the Botanical Garden and the District Institute for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (IDIPRON), performed today an intervention for the recovery and beautification of the lower side from “El Peñón del Cortijo” park, located in Carrera 72 F, No. 68A-2 Sur.
In this activity, a beautification work was carried out; it included cleaning and painting the park and planting 50 ornamental plants of different species, with the purpose of breathing new life into this public space, making it safer and more pleasant. This work included the participation of the collaborators who are part of the GEB volunteer program“United with Energy”.
Astrid Álvarez, GEB president, pointed out that“Supporting these initiatives is part of the commitment Grupo Energía de Bogotá has with the generation of shared value for the city. Our team of volunteers contributes thereby to the improvement of these spaces for all citizens of Bogota”.
This activity of improvement and beautification of this public space, in which the volunteers from Grupo Energía de Bogotá participated, is added to those ones carried out in the towns of Mártires and Chapinero, developed in recent months.
The "United with Energy" program currently is formed by 48 volunteers, collaborators of the Empresa de Energía de Bogotá and the Transportadora de Gas Internacional, TGI, who strengthen their leadership, integration and social awareness skills, in addition to sharing their time. The GEB will continue to support these initiatives that are part of its sustainable development policy with which it seeks to generate shared value in all areas in which it is present.
