Empresa Energía de Bogotá wins bid for Energy transmission project in the coffee region

Bogotá, Colombia, 14 February 2012

  • The Energy Mining Planning Unit –UPME, awarded Empresa Energía Bogotá –EEB- the transmission works of the Armenia substation at 230kV and related transmission lines in an invitation to bid UPME-02-2009, which are contemplated in its Expansion Plan.
  • The expansion project of the energy transmission network to be built in the coffee growing region, consists of design, acquisition of supplies, construction, operation and maintenance of works.

The award is a new demonstration of strength, growth and generation of results that have characterized Grupo Energía de Bogotá, which last week inaugurated  Pisco, in Peru, the natural gas household service through Contugas.
DFrom 2005 to date, it is the sixth time that EEB is awarded UPME bids. The companies ISA, EPM, el Consorcio de Transmisión del Quindío and  EEB also submitted proposals in this occasion.
