EEB is awarded electric expansion project

- Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB) was awarded UPME-05-2009 Quimbo Substation and related 230 kV lines invitation to bid, of the electricity interconnection expansion project of the National Transmission System, which will reinforce electricity services in the southwest of Colombia.
- This is the third invitation to bid from UPME awarded to EEB in the past two months.
The awarding of the Energy Mining Planning Unite (UPME - for its Spanish acronym), comprised the design, acquisition of supplies, construction, operation and maintenance of the Quimbo Substation at 230kV in the Huila Department, of a doubled circuit line with an extension of more than 170 km from the Alferez substation, in the southwest of the country to Cali, plus a simple line to the Altamira substation, property of EEb and other related equipment located in these substations.
This award joins the Alferez and Armenia substations with 230kV, granted in the past two months, with which Empresa de Energía de Bogotá makes sound progress towards fulfilling its mission of generating development and well being to Colombians.
