Empresa de Energía de Bogotá awarded bid for a transmission project in the coffee region.

Bogotá, Colombia, 15 February 2012

The Energy Mining Planning Unit –UPME (for its Spanish acronym), awarded EEB the transmission works of the Armenia substation at 230kV and the related transmission lines established in UPME-02-2009 invitation to bid and that are part of the Expansion Plan. the award is a new evidence of the strength, growth and results generation that characterize Grupo Energía de Bogotá, which last week inaugurated in Pisco, Peru the household natural gas service through Contugas.

The expansion project of the energy transmission network to be undertaken in the coffee growing region, consists of the design, acquisition of supplies, construction, operation and maintenance of works.

From 2005 to date, it is the sixth time that EEB has been awarded UPME invitations to bid.  The companies ISA, EPM, Consorcio de Transmisión del Quindío and EEB submitted offers in this case.
