Grupo de Energía de Bogotá has provided pedagogical materials to 2,470 children in Cundinamarca and Boyacá

Bogota D.C., February 13, 2017. Grupo de Energía de Bogotá (GEB), in the context of the UPME 03 – 2010 Norte – Chivor II Project, continues to support communities where it has presence through various social initiatives.
GEB has provided pedagogical materials to 2,470 children in 10 municipalities of the project’s area of influence. A total of 4,470 units, including notebooks, puzzles, t-shirts, energy related books and wind-powered and solar vehicle kits, were delivered by GEB employees in this Colombian region. Likewise, this activity was attended by officers from the municipal entities and chairmen of the Community Action Boards (JAC, acronym in Spanish).
By delivering these materials, the intent of is to make children acquire new knowledge, capacities and skills that contribute to improve their abilities; and to share, in a didactical manner, the relevance of electrical energy and natural gas.
This kind of educational initiatives are part of GEB sustainability policy, which premise is the establishment of a permanent relationship to create bonds of trust in territories where it operates.
It is to keep in mind that the UPME 03 – 2010 Norte – Chivor II Project is deemed to be a strategic national interest project seeking, among other things, to reduce the power outage risk; to ensure uninterrupted energy supply; to ensure connectivity between and among departments through the expansion of the national grid; and finally, to have a safer and more reliable service.
