Bogotá D.C., April 18th, 2017. The companies belonging to Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB) develop actions against fraud and corruption and promote transparency in their administrative management and encourage the commitment of their managers and employees through their corporate policies and code of ethics.
The Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Policy from Grupo Energía de Bogotá joins the other corporate policies from the Group, in its interest to align strategies and operations with the universally accepted principles of the United Nations Global Compact, especially the anti-corruption principle which aims to promote and strengthen measures to prevent and combat corruption.
To achieve this purpose, the GEB built and published its Anti-Corruption and Citizen Attention Plan (PAAC) in 2017, following the norms that regulate it and taking into account the recommendations presented at the work table convened by the District Monitoring.
“Being a Business Group, for us it is essential to reaffirm our commitment to transparency and the fight against corruption in all our processes, since one of our main objectives is to strengthen the Corporate Governance that allows us to implement better practices and mechanisms of self-regulation through which business ethics are promoted”, stated Astrid Álvarez, president of the Grupo Energía de Bogotá.
Moreover, as part of its commitment to transparency and zero tolerance of corruption, in 2016 the Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB) ratified its adherence to the "Collective Action on Ethics in the Energy Sector", a self-regulatory initiative that promotes the adoption of ethical standards from the participating companies, led by XM and the National Council of Operations (CNO).
