GEB Volunteers renovated the Integrated Protection Unit of San Francisco

Bogotá, D.C., March 31, 2017. Grupo Energía de Bogotá (GEB) and the District Institute for Protection of Childhood and Adolescence (Idipron), worked today on the renovation of the Integrated Protection Unit (UPI) in the municipality of San Francisco in Cundinamarca. The campaign was purported to improve the facilities while delivering arts and sports activities for children and youngsters of Idipron.
This activity was undertaken with the participation of the collaborators that comprise the GEB Volunteering Group, known as“United with Energy”. This group has been continuously supporting the Institute in different ludic and entertaining activities intended to bring welfare to children and young people of the area.
Astrid Álvarez, GEB president, pointed out that“this campaign is part of the shared-value strategyand is a token of the Group's commitment to supporting people that have endured the suffering of being homeless and now undergo the process of social reintegration. Furthermore, supporting these initiatives is also a sample of the Group's commitment to the city and the people shaping its future”.
In addition, GEB has carried out three campaigns purported to recover public spaces that were also supported by the volunteers of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, in the municipalities of Mártires, Chapinero and Ciudad Bolívar.
Today, the program“United with Energy”brings together 48 volunteers that put their time to the service of the communities, while they strengthen its social awareness, integration and leadership skills. GEB will continue to support these initiatives that are deeply rooted in its sustainable development policy which is aimed at increasing collaboration in all of the areas where the company is present.
