Empresa de Energía de Bogotá S.A ESP will split shares

Each share will be divided in one hundred shares, without affecting the value of the shareholding structure each shareholders has as regards equity, neither will it affect the value of the company.
Bogotá, 20 June 2011. To ease the negotiation of shares in the Colombian Stock Exchange, the General Shareholder Meeting of Empresa de Energía de Bogotá S.A. ESP – EEB S.A ESP, accepted splitting each share into one hundred shares. Te purpose is to improve cash value, allowing the holder of each share to have one hundred shares with which each will increase his/her negotiation ability.
The decision made implies a reform to the bylaws, today Monday it will be enacted in a Public Deed and duly registered in the Trade Registry. Once this step is completed, the Colombian Stock Exchange and DECEVAL will be informed.
DECEVAL, by being the agency that manages the shareholders registry, shall modify the number of shares of each shareholder registered in said Registry Book. Upon completion of this procedure, each share will equal 100 shares and its face value will be divided by one hundred, from COP$5.360 to COP$53,60.
The following step is the responsibility of the Stock Exchange that shall modify the opening price of EEC S.A. ESP's shares dividing by 100 the closing price of the preceding day. This change does not imply a change in the company's financial standing nor shareholders, as previously mentioned, the effect of this procedure is to multiply by one hundred the number of outstanding shares.
In 2010, Grupo Energía de Bogotá, of which Empresa de Energía de Bogotá S.A ESP is its headquarter and operating entity, showed profits amounting to approx one trillion pesos.
