Empresa de Energía de Bogotá issued bonds in the amount of COP 650.000 million in the Colombian market, with an overdemand of COP 1.3 billion

Bogotá, D.C., February 28, 2017. Empresa de Energía de Bogotá launched the first issuance of bonds for the Colombian market in the amount of COP 650.000 million, with an overdemand of COP 1.3 billion. This is the largest bond issuing operation that has taken place during the year.
Sixty-five per cent of the proceeds obtained will be invested in the Company's Investment Plan, particularly in the funding of the UPME Projects undertaken by the Company and the remaining thirty-five per cent will be destined to debt restructuring.
“The success of this issuance is linked mainly to the robustness of the company in the market, along with its profitability and its effort to maximize financial efficiency”,president of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, Astrid Astrid Álvarez said.
The bonds were offered in three Subseries with terms of 7, 15 and 25 years at an interest rate indexed by the Consumer Price Index.
In the past, the company became the first Colombian issuer in placing bonds in the international market with positive results and this is the first trench of the two that are planned in the Colombian stock market for 2017, both for approximately the same amount.
